Brooklyn Stories

New York changes quickly.

Stores close overnight. Signs disappear. Families retire. Entire histories vanish between leases and renovations.

The sudden closing of Caputo’s Bake Shop after 124 years on Court Street became the catalyst for this ongoing series documenting the local institutions that shaped Brooklyn’s neighborhoods before they disappear.

These are not simply businesses. They are landmarks of memory, routine, and identity.

Through portraiture, interiors, objects, and atmosphere, Brooklyn Stories Studio is creating a visual archive of the places that make these neighborhoods feel like home.
