Caputo’s Fine Foods

Est. 1973
460 Court Street
Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn

Since 1973, Caputo’s Fine Foods has been a neighborhood fixture on Court Street, known for its house-made mozzarella, imported Italian goods, prepared foods, and old-world atmosphere. Founded by Giuseppe Caputo after immigrating from Bari, Italy, the shop brought the traditions of a small Italian specialty market to Carroll Gardens — long before the neighborhood became a destination.

Still family-run today, Caputo’s remains part grocery, part gathering place — a store where generations of Brooklyn families continue to shop for familiar ingredients, conversation, and continuity within a rapidly changing city.
