Vinnie’s Iron Works

Est. 1963
38 Bergen Street
Cobble Hill, Brooklyn

There’s a good chance you’ve walked past Vinnie’s work without knowing it. A railing outside a brownstone, a gate along a familiar block, ironwork that’s been there so long it feels like part of the street. Since 1963, Vinnie’s Italian Art Ironworks on Bergen Street has been making and repairing the details that give Brooklyn’s buildings their character.

The shop is now run by Vinnie’s three sons, Alfredo, Dominic, and Vincenzo Pampillonia. After their father passed away in 2025, the brothers took over, keeping things much the way he left them. They grew up working beside him, and the shop still reflects the man who built it: practical, personal, and devoted to the work.

For the brothers, carrying on means looking after both the business and the neighborhood their father spent decades working in. Their repairs help old buildings hold on to their original details. Their father’s work is still all around them. By carrying it forward, the brothers are helping Brooklyn hold on to what makes it Brooklyn.
