For more than seven decades, the aroma of freshly roasted coffee has been part of the rhythm of Court Street. D’Amico Coffee Roasters was founded by Italian immigrant Emanuel D’Amico, who began roasting beans on-site and built a neighborhood business around quality, familiarity, and personal service.

Today, the shop is run by Joan D’Amico, carrying the family tradition into another generation. With its original character still intact, D’Amico remains one of Carroll Gardens’ enduring neighborhood institutions, a place shaped as much by the people behind the counter as the generations of Brooklynites who continue to walk through its doors.
